Motoplus is a website platform and social posting tool for car dealerships, operated by Motoplus, based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom ("we", "us").

This policy explains what information the Motoplus software and the Motoplus Facebook app handle, and how. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@moto-plus.co.uk .

01

Who this policy covers

  • Dealers: businesses using the Motoplus platform on their own website, including the Motoplus Social feature that connects to their Facebook Page.
  • Visitors to this website, moto-plus.co.uk.
i

Motoplus Social does not collect or process any data belonging to Facebook users who view, like or comment on a dealer's posts. The app interacts only with the dealer's own Facebook Page, at the dealer's request.

02

What information we handle, and why

Motoplus handles only the information needed to provide the features selected by the dealer.

This includes connecting the dealer's chosen Facebook Page, publishing vehicle posts and, where enabled, creating suggested captions.

03

When a dealer connects their Facebook Page

When a dealer connects their Facebook Page to Motoplus Social, we request the following through Facebook's official login process:

A list of Facebook Pages the dealer manages pages_show_list so the dealer can choose which Page to connect.

Basic Page information pages_read_engagement to confirm the connection and display the Page name.

Permission to publish posts to that Page pages_manage_posts to publish the vehicle posts the dealer creates or schedules.

Once a Page is chosen, we store the Page name, Page ID and a Page access token . This is the minimum needed for the feature to work.

04

Where that information is stored

Motoplus runs on each dealer's own website. The Page access token and connection details are stored in the dealer's own WordPress database, on the dealer's own hosting , not on any central Motoplus server.

We do not operate a server that collects, aggregates or stores dealers' Facebook data.

Facebook connection details stay within the individual dealer's own website and hosting environment.

05

What the app sends to Facebook

When a dealer publishes a post, or has automatic posting switched on, the app sends the following information to Facebook:

  • The generated post image.
  • The post caption.
  • A link to the vehicle listing on the dealer's own website.

This is vehicle stock information, such as make, model, price, mileage and photos. It is not personal information.

06

AI-written captions

If a dealer enables the optional AI caption feature, the vehicle's details, including make, model, year, specification and price, are sent to OpenAI to generate a suggested caption.

No personal information is included in these requests. Dealers who do not enable this feature send nothing to OpenAI.

07

What we do not do

Our data commitments
